Had the pleasure to work on marketing material for MicroVision featuring their automotive LiDAR device. This was a fun project as I was tasked with figuring out how to visualize their LiDAR technology. In the end, I created a Houdini setup that allowed me to both create the initial wave pattern, as well as parse CSV data from their engineers to project onto 3D geometry. It was important to have the correct density of points and be as accurate as possible. All of this had to then be cached out and transferred to Cinema4D where the lidar points were rendered.
